June - The Summer's Heating Up

With Ava's CBC team being a year-round club season, it's no surprise that I'll be posting basketball pictures almost every month.
One of my favorite pictures of Ava getting tough.
This tournament was rough and Ava's messy hair-do illustrates how much the girls got beat up.
Ava's either gasping for air or in awe over how tall her opponent is (the girls are playing in a 5th/6th grade league and Ava's only in 4th grade).
Cheese to an awesome flag football season played by Dylan.
We missed having coach Carlos this season but, Dylan still have fun.
During the first part of June I took the kids to the pet store and as a surprise I let them both pick out their own hamster as a reward for doing so well throughout the entire school year. Ava and Dylan both worked hard and had good reports all year long. Dylan's named his hamster Hank and...
...Ava named her hamster Roco. However, this is a picture of Ava with Dinger, her second hamster that she got just a few short weeks after getting Roco who sadly escaped from his gage only a week or two after she had him.
June 7th, Mom getting in a little racing at the Splash Dash 5K right in our neighborhood.
Some of Simon's Runcolo team members racing while Simon timed the race.
Happy birthday to Dylan's very best friend Sasha on June 13th.
A fun party of bumper cars and...
...laser tag while sister and dad were away in Kansas.
Ava's first CBC basketball tournament out-of-state in Wichita, KS, June 12th - 14th.
Sadly, I was not able to go on this trip but, Simon was able to go with Ava and they both had such a fun time away together and...
...the girls sure had a fun time together too.
 A great group of girls.

The girls may have had lots of fun but, they also played very hard too, and Ava was very appreciative that my cousin Darcy and her son Cameron were able to come watch Ava play as well since they live right in Wichita.
Great job girls.
Dylan and his bud Gunner having a soapy, wet mess while sister was away.
I might be out of Dawn liquid soap but it sure kept these boys busy for hours. Pricless!

Right after Ava and Simon returned from Kansas, it was time to turn around and head right back to the mid-west for my family reunion at Honey Creek Resort in Moravia, Iowa on June 18th - 21st. Unfortunately, Simon wasn't able to join us because it was Father's day weekend which is a very busy racing weekend for him but, he was very much missed.
After a long drive the kids were third for pool time with their cousin's Riley and Fin. We love getting to see these guys and miss them so much.
Playing hard and spending lots of time together.

 Pretty girls.

 Catching up and campfire lessons.

 My sister and our girls.
 Roasting marshmellows.
 Best of buddies.
 A day on the boat.

Shane and Sean brought their fun kayaks.
 Cooling off from the heat.
 Hours of uninterrupted play time.
More kayak outings with Ava getting to handle her own kayak.

Uncle Sean getting in on the fun.
Shane, Sharona and Cindy taking the John boat on a ride.
Expanding the family reunion with Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Love this family. Wish Simon was here but, hopefully he'll be able to join the next family reunion.
 Relaxing in the sun.
Aunt Cindy's turn on the kayaks.
One day my parents rented a pontoon boat and even though it didn't have enough power for tubing, I think the kids and Uncle Sean still enjoyed a day on the water.

"On the pontoon, makin' waves and catchin' rays up on the roof...
...jumpin' out the back, don't act like you don't want to...
 ...party in slow motion...

 ...out here in the open...
 ...mmmmmm.... motorboat'"

More time in the water cooling off.

 Two handsome boys.
Reunion BBQ dinner just in time before...

...the big rain storm blew in.

 Family time and games.

2015 Kueck family reunion!
