The month of May has almost come to an end and now it's time to celebrate school being let out for summer.
With school being out and a long weekend upon us for Memorial Day we decided to take an impromptu trip to...
...the Great Sand Dunes.
We've had a very wet and rainy spring and summer but, we took the chance on a little get-away by coming down south to explore. The river was freezing cold and the rain set in but, we were determined to climb the Great Sand Dunes.
It started off cold and wet but, unfortunately the weather...
...turned even more cold and stormy and we even got hit with a hale storm but...
...the views were just amazing. And yes, those are trash bags we're wearing over our rain gear for an added layer of protection.
At one point when we were getting hailed on Dylan yelled "this is the worst day of my life" but, overall we still managed to have an adventurous vacation and wonderful family time. We'll just have to come back to the Great Sand Dunes another time on a warm, sunny weekend.
35 years isn't something to cheer about but, celebrating with my family is.
