September Fun Events

September was full of fun gatherings with friends, racing, football and soccer.

We kicked-off the month with dinner with our dearest friends, the Hensley family, at our favorite pizza doodle hang out where the kids make their own personal pizzas and they have a kids room to play in as well. Thus, we adults got to have great conversation too.

September is of course a wonderful weather month for running and we were so excited to race in the first annual Back to Broncos 7K where we finished the race inside the Broncos stadium. 

We met up with the Walkers, so that kids could all race in the kids run together and later we went over to their house for fantastic post-race BBQ.

We enjoyed some catching up time with the Ward family with hours of crawdad fishing adventures using string and raw bacon.

The creek wore the kids out as they caught almost 30 crawdads.

Ending the afternoon with a little picnic time after a full morning of playing in the creek.

Ava asked if she could get a little blue hair dye in her hair and I of course said yes knowing it would wash out in a week.

Growing up so fast.

In September the kids started up Broncos flag football and...

...fall soccer which filled up our weekend Saturdays.

We continued to fill the month with racing. I pulled off a 1st place for females at the El Grito 5K while Ava ran an impressive PR of 25:59 placing 3rd for females 14 and under.  Just think what she could do if she actually practiced running. We just sign her up and make her race in 5Ks with no other running or conditioning.

Dylan has really loved getting to finally play the sport of flag football and...

...we all loved that her practiced 1.5 hours on both Tuesday and Thursday nights with...

...2 hour of football on Saturdays. Lucky for us he also had an amazing coach who not only taught the boys the fundamentals of football but, also enforced discipline and respect.
So far, Dylan is loving this sport and is doing an amazing job playing it too. He's quick on his feet and both tough and smart on defense.
