More Fall Racing, Our Favorite Haunted Hayride, Plus More Soccer and Football

Two of our favorite 5Ks in October are Halloween races.
This year Ava and Ava both ran in the Scream Scram 5K race with me on Friday, October 17th. I was able to pull of a 2nd place for the women while Simon ran along with the girls during the race and Dylan and Omi cheered us all on. At mile 2, Dylan jumped in the race with Simon and the girls and helped them finish strong in the last mile. It's such a fun, night-time race with lots of runners in Halloween costume plus tons of yummy treats after the race.
Dylan definitely enjoyed all the free treats.
Saturday was filled with football and soccer for Ava and Dylan as usual and both kids played great. Then on Sunday, Simon and I woke up early to run in the Denver Half Marathon. It was a hilly course this year but, a very much enjoyed race by all. Denver puts on a fantastic race. We ran with a great group of running friends followed up by a fun post-race gather with everyone at the new View House restaurant. This was the perfect place for both kids and adults to hang out, where the kids could play tons of fun games outside on the patio while the tired adults could enjoy filling our belly's after a long race.
The next weekend we were excited for our favorite Halloween activity... the haunted hayride at the Stockton Stables put, on by the 4H club on Friday, October 24th. My mom and dad came down for the weekend to watch the kids play soccer and football and of course wanted to join us for a spooky evening. Unfortunately, my mom was passing kidney stones and was in too much pain to join us for the hayride.
The hayride was spooktacular and I think I was screaming more than the kids were.
Ava and Dylan enjoyed some Halloween face painting as well.
The next morning we enjoyed another gorgeous 70 degree, sunny day of soccer and...
...football.
Two more touchdowns for this guy.
Later that afternoon we relaxed in the warm sun with a little...
...game of catch with dad and...
...cute photos of the kids in the golden sun.
Later that night it was time for our second favorite race in October... Hoof'n It Through The Hallows 5K. Dylan kicked off the fun-filled night racing in the kids dash in costume.
Next the girls and I raced the 5K. Mom placed 1st overall female while...
...Ava and Ava raced to the finish together running almost 3 minutes faster then they raced last year.
We finished off the night with lots of Halloween treats, roasting s'mores and Grampy and Sharona also stayed another night for the weekend as Sharona was starting to feel much better. What a wonderful Halloween filled weekend.
