New Nephew

Meet my cute new nephew, Finian! On Friday, February 25, 2011 Finian, arrived weighing 9lbs 5 oz and we're so excited he and family are all doing so well.

Here's my niece Riley, taking good care of her baby brother. Ava and I fly out on March 11th to meet Finian and help out Shane, Sean, and Riley. We can't wait to see you all soon.

Quick update on Ava - today we had parent teacher conferences and Simon and I were so proud (but not surprised) to hear how well Ava is doing.

Ava should be reading at a level 4 and she's reading at a level 8!! She scored 100% on writing and only missed two points in math. Fantastic job Ava! Your love for reading, story time, writing letters and playing flash cards as a little girl has really paid off.

At Ava's first conference of the year her teacher talked to us about Ava needing to improve on trying not to shout out all the answers in class, interrupting, and working on not always trying to teach the other kids because that was the teacher's job. After today's conference we were so pleased to hear that Ava has really improved and no longer interrupts and shouts out the answers. Ava now only helps out the other kids with their work when her teacher tells her it's a good time to do so and when she can be the helper.

Keep up the great work Ava. We're so happy you're having fun, doing so well and loving school.
