Vacations to Lake Powell are the best and we wish we could go every summer but, we were thankful for the summers when we do get to go. The kids and I have made it about once every other summer and this year Simon was able to make it to the Lake with his work schedule. We were also so very thankful and appreciative of all the hard work my parents put in to make our trip (and past trips) to the Lake, so wonderful and memorable. Thanks mom and dad.
I have posted a thousand pictures so I tried to keep the descriptions short.
Simon steering my parent's houseboat down river.
A shower to cool off during a crazy hot day.
A boy and his mud.
This was awesome... we drove the speed boat past one of our old camp sights and found the hut that these four built back in 2012. See the two photos below from 2012. So cool that it was still standing after four years had past with many campers having been to the sight many times of the years.
Back to 2016. A boat ride to cool us off from the hot July heat.
Ava was up on her first time after two years and she was crossing the wake with confidence. Love it!
Dylan was up on skis for the first time on his second try! Woohoo. Amazing.
Time to try paddle boarding.
Paddle boarding was very easy, relaxing and peaceful.
We tried so hard to get all four of us to stand up on the paddle board at the same time.
We were so close many times, but we never got all four of us standing. We tried for a very long time though which provided lots of entertainment and laughs.
Dylan was so excited to catch his first catfish.
He was even more excited for Grampy to show him how to clean and cut the fish immediately so that...
...he could catch one more and then...
...Sharona could fry it up for Dylan's first bite of fresh catfish. He loved it!
There are a ton of tubbing pictures but, we all had so much fun it was hard not to post a lot of them.
Exploring the Indian tracks. They were too steep to climb.
More tubbing.
Relaxing and...
...reading lake side.
Dylan getting up on skis again. Watch the transition on Dylan's face. He goes from terrified to...
...extremely happy!
Ava looking strong and having fun crossing the wake.
One of my favorite things to do in the whole wide world. Water skiing on glass. Thanks to my dad for getting out on the lake early in the morning so that we could find some glass.
Love it!
My dad took some turns on the glass too.
He's an amazing water skier but, I'm glad he took it easy and pretty amazing that he can still slalom at 68 years old.
Dylan loved feeling the fast breeze from the speeding fast speed boat. Best seat on the boat.
Team effort to digging out the pontoons stuck in the sand.
Looking for fish.
Cliff jumping.
Yes, it appears we all jumped at the same time but,
...for some odd reason I didn't jump. Still not really sure why.
Did I mention we did a lot of tubbing and...
...water skiing too!
Game night!
Fishing lessons from Sharona!
Woohoo!! Dylan got up without the training skis and training rope.
He did great too!
Ava was really starting to look comfortable on skis.
Water basketball with dad.
Addy wanted to go tubbing. It was cute until...
...Grampy started going faster and making them cross the wake and then I decided to end the fun because I thought Addy wasn't liking it. Mom the worrier.
Cave exploring.
The four of us trying to stay on the tub. It was a ball of fun but very hard for us all to stay on.
Such an amazing family trip in an amazing place.
Campfire and roasting marshmallows on our last night.
I found this crescent moon shape in the water.
The early morning sunrise on our couple our journey back up river on our last day. It was the perfect trip and one of our favorite places in the world.
