Omi's Visit

Wednesday morning, April 4th, Ava woke up super, super early at 6 am (she normally gets up at 8 am) because she could hardly sleep knowing that her Omi was arriving on the train that morning. Ava luckily had a late start for school on Wednesday so she and Dylan were able to head to the train station with Simon to pick up Cathie but, unfortunately Ava then had school the rest of the week. While Ava was at school Dylan, Omi, and I kept busy going...... to the park, story hour, going for walks, and getting to meet Ava for lunch at school. And look at the gorgeous picture Omi captured at the park while Dylan...... made sure to show his Omi all the cool things he can do at the park.
Dylan also made sure to show his Omi how to prepare for Easter with a little cookie decorating.Another gorgeous picture taken by Omi of the beautiful view from where both Ava and Dylan practice track and soccer.
Omi, Dylan and I had a relaxing evening getting to watch Ava at track practice and surprisingly, so far, Ava seems to be enjoying track with...
... the long jump being her favorite event. Who doesn't like jumping in the sand!
Omi was also able to watch Ava at soccer practice on Thursday which was great because unfortunately, Ava and Dylan's soccer games on Saturday were scheduled for the same time. So while Ava headed to her game with a friend Omi and I then headed out to watch...
... an extremely cute and very entertaining soccer practice of Dylan's.
Dylan had a blast at soccer and best of all I was able to get him on the same team as his buddy Axel so he was even more ecstatic.
Omi and I had many wonderful laughs getting to watch 3 year olds learn to play soccer. It was hilariously cute.
Up next it was time for Easter egg decorating. Ava was very patient and turned out some wonderfully colored eggs. Dylan on the other hand was more concerned about the quantity of eggs rather than quality and thus had Omi and I in tears of laughter.
Ava's patience paid off well and her eggs turned out beautifully, while these messy hands were proof of Dylan's eggs with character.
We were so glad the weather was great while Omi was out visiting us, so we made sure to get the most of the sunshine by walking on the High Line and...
feeding the horses. Ava loves horses and has no problem getting close to her furry friends. Ava and I...
... did our best to show Dylan how nice the horses were and how to feed them but...
... although Dylan was extremely excited about visiting the horses he wanted nothing to do with feeding them.
Two of my favorite ladies.
Last but, not least it was time for Easter morning. Simon and I woke up early and headed out together to run a 5k race while these two cute bunnies enjoyed an Easter fun morning with their Omi.Sharona and Grampy later arrived to celebrate Easter with all of us and to watch the kids...
... hunt for Easter eggs. Ava and Dylan had so much fun...
... hunting...
...opening...
...gathering...
...seeking...
...reaching...
...and finding tons of Easter eggs.
There's no better way to celebrate the day than with my wonderful family.
Happy Easter and...
...we're so thankful for another wonderful visit with Omi. We love you and can't wait to see you soon.

LOVE Ava's Easter dress, and that striped shirt of Dylan's! Lainey also started soccer this week, and it is super fun to watch the little ones figure out how coordinated they are!
