So Much To Be Thankful For

Catching up on a photo of Ava and Dylan's final product of their very creative and cute gingerbread house from last weekend.

On Thanksgiving morning Simon timed a Turkey Trot race that turned out wonderfully and the weather was gorgeous and almost 70 degrees with close to about 3,000 runners. After Simon arrived home from his race we headed up to the mountains for Thanksgiving and of course the first thing the kids did when getting out of the truck was head right for their swings.

We loved having Karen and Thomas join us for Thanksgiving dinner and Ava had such an enjoyable time with Karen because she always comes over with such fun activities for the kids and we all love their great company.

Ava and Dylan loved joining the adults by drinking from their wine glasses with sparkling apple cider.

Thanks Mom for such a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Everything was delicious! Thanks Dad for always doing a great job carving the bird (and thanks for the funny picture too). I think we were all thankful for our nice walk around the loop after dinner to settle our very full bellies.

Ava and Dylan aren't big on pie (like the rest of us are, yum) so they enjoyed their yummy and cute, mini turkey cupcakes.

On Friday, while up in the mountains we made sure to head to the ski slopes to pick up the kids ski passes for the year. The guy behind the counter was awesome and let the kids come around to print out their own passes which they thought was so fun.

Yay! We've got our passes for the year... now all we need is some more snow so we can hit the slopes.

We headed up to Beaver Creek Village for a festive night of an ice skating show while the snow fell so beautifully...

... and we enjoyed walking around to view the amazing gingerbread house contest. Although the spectacular gingerbread house behind the kids won, I still love the character of Ava and Dylan's house much better.Thanks Mom and Dad for a fun weekend!

Once we arrived home Dylan was so sad that we didn't get to go skiing because there wasn't enough snow, so he decided to strap on his skies in the living room for an early ski lesson from his sister. See the cute video below.

While back at home on Sunday, Simon and I had a ton of items to check off our remodeling lists, so before an afternoon full of errands to Lowes and Home Depot, we made sure to take the kiddos to the park. They finished off their hour of playtime at the park by chasing squirrels around the park. For some reason it really was so hilarious and we were also glad they got a lot of running in too.

What a beautiful end to wonderfully, long weekend.
