For my 34th birthday weekend we headed to the mountains Friday, May 23rd, and kicked off a great weekend with a wonderful dinner cooked by my mom (crab and shrimp... my favorites) followed by a delicious cheese cake dessert. Thanks Mom for knowing me so well, and thanks...
...family for a great birthday celebration.
We woke up early and headed out to my dear friend Jennifer and her boyfriend Scott's ranch. They work and live on the Colorado River Ranch and we were excited to finally get a chance to experience a day on the ranch with them.
A little entertainment for the hour long car ride.
When we arrive the new puppies were a big hit.
So cute and so sweet. I thought the kids were going to hide one in their bag and take one home.
After weekend the puppies and the cute baby chickens too and seeing all the sites of the ranch it was time...
...to get the horses ready for a ride.
So beautiful to ride the horse in a field and not having to follow a trail.
My dad was still recovering from shoulder surgery so none of us were going to allow him to ride a horse. But he had the important job of bringing the food and drinks and dogs in the ATV.

Loved getting to see one on my best friends.
The beautiful dark clouds in the pictures finally brought a little rain so we rushed into a little barn near by.
After the rain passed it was time to feed the cows. So Jen took the kids and I with her in the tractor to...
...pick up a bail of hay and head out to...
...feed the hungry, pregnant cows and calves.
Jen and Scott worked so hard for us to have such a fun and special day.

And of course the kids had to get in some swing time before leaving the mountains.
