...Ava's school performance. She did a wonderful job singing while not only knowing all the words and movements to each song but, also by helping the others around her remember what they were suppose to be doing too. So cute and helpful.
.Ava also had a speaking part and nailed her lines nice a clear.
Friday, December 6th, the Warriors kicked off their season with a strong 1st game. 
Ava scored 4 points with one of those baskets being her first layup in a game.
The 1st early gift of Christmas... such cute reindeer hats from Sharona.
Time for some weekend fun in the snow but, instead of sledding the kids thought they'd seek adventure with the wagon.
Which ended with many laughing falls.
Our protector Marley was right there to keep a close eye on all the fun.
Such great buds.
I love when these two can play for hours outdoors together and their fun ends with no tears and no fighting. Time for some hot coco!
Friday, December 13th, Dylan had his first of three super cute caroling performance at Willows.
Dylan was so adorable and did such a cute job (and serious job this year... normally he's so goofy) of singing all the words to a huge variety of holiday songs.
Friday I was able to watch Dylan's performance while, Ava and Simon were then able to go watch Dylan on his 2nd performance Monday the 16th.
Friday, December 13th, 2013, it was an extremely emotional day for all of us when our community was faced with the horrible news of a shooting at Arapahoe High School. With Ava's elementary school only being a half mile away from Arapahoe, her school went on immediate lock down. It was a day we will never forget filled with confusion, frustration, sadness, worry, and overall just feeling emotionally sick to our stomachs. That night Ava had to switch gears and play hard in...
... her bbal game number two. Ava had some amazing steals, a huge block and another great shot.
The girls all played hard and pulled off another fun win. After a very emotional and scary, sad day and then having to play a very up-tempo exciting basketball game, it was no wonder that Ava then slept in the next morning until 9:37 AM.
With the whole weekend surround with such sad and horrible news as well as with all the constant reminders of Friday's incident due to all the camera crews set up on the sidewalks and vigils set up at Arapahoe therefore, reminding us every time we drove in and out of our neighborhood, it was therefore very comforting to find some joy and laughter spending family time together doing something festive like visiting Santa and...
...going ice skating at...
...the beautifully decorated and festive Cube at the Streets of Southglenn.
Dylan wanted to master skating without any helpful tips from mom (as usual with Dylan's competitive personality he therefore thinks he can teach himself how to do anything). :)
And for the most part Dylan did pretty well (with a few falls) for only having skated three times.
Ava loves skating and who wouldn't love it with all the beautiful lights.
Such a fun night out.
The kids enjoyed watching and skating with all the older high school teenagers too.
Ending the night by the warm fire and then heading home for some more hot coco!
The next morning it was time for some more festive fun with 20 Girl Scouts gathering at our house ready to make Christmas ornaments and practice...

...our favorite volunteer event at the Libby Bortz center to spread some caroling cheer as well as the ornaments that the girls had made for the residences.
