Tuesday evening, November 26th, the kids headed to the mountains with Grampy and Sharona while I stayed in Denver to help Simon time his biggest race of the year. While we were busy working hard timing the Turkey Trot the kids were busy helping Sharona make...

Ava did a great job with her first pumpkin pie where she wasn't just assisting Sharon but, instead she was reading the recipe and measuring out all the ingredients herself.
And a great job to Dylan for carefully carrying birthday cake with candles and all for...
...an overdue celebration of Grampy's 65th birthday.
The kids were very excited to get started the next morning on their annual gingerbread houses...
...which turned out great and very festive.
Up next we headed to White River National Forest in, Grampy's new toy, for a fun afternoon of Christmas tree hunting.

...a great little hike for our quest of a tree.
A beautiful, sunny day to be in the mountains.
Marley and Addy too enjoyed the hike in the mountain snow.
We found our first tree.
Not too bad for the Escorcia's first Charley Brown tree.
Just around the corner we then found Grampy and Sharona's tree.
Now we just had to get the trees back to the trucks.

...we all took turns making our way down to the bottom.
Ava worked hard as she wanted to drag the tree down all the way herself and...
...Dylan just enjoyed helping Grampy the most.

After a hard day of playing in the woods it was time to relax watching Frozen in 3D.
Before heading home we were so lucky to have my dear family friend Eric, his wife Kim and their new baby girl Claire, drop by for a visit.
Ava and I fought over who got to hold Claire more. I think Ava won.
