Gearing up for our neighborhood 4th of July parade.
Happy Independence Day!
Cornerstone Park for an awesome fireworks show with...
...our great friends the Tober's. These four all loved the show. I feel bad for those sitting around us as our four were very vocal about all their favorite fireworks.
After a festive 4th of July the kids and I packed up the truck and headed out for a summer camping trip. We were really looking forward to Katie, Alex (who is Ava's friend and she's 7 too) and Jackson (Dylan's best buddy from school who's also 4) joining us for some camping fun but, Alex unfortunately, got very stomach sick and had a fever so understandably, they had to bail. We were so sad but, still very excited and ready for a great camping adventure.

We set up camp and then it was time...
...to play in the dirt and fight off...
...the sleeping bag mummies who invaded our tent.
Marley found a perfect, quiet place away from the commotion.
Up next we explored the campgrounds and found lots of fun games to play like...
...tether-ball and...
...and basketball, volley and soccer.
After lots of games it was time to cook dinner and later...
...do some more exploring on a hike where we ran into two deer. Here's Dylan being noisy about the deer and...
...here's Ava quickly telling Dylan to be quite and not to scare away the deer.
It was a gorgeous evening.
And a beautiful sunset.
Time to get cozy and finally get some sleep, which was hard because Ava and Dylan were so excited and had way too much fun with their flash lights.
This tired girl is getting to old for camping. She was still sleeping when we woke up at 9 AM.
Time for yummy pancakes and eggs. It takes a very long time to make pancakes and eggs on a single burner but, we enjoyed taking our time as we had nothing else planned for the day.
After a few games of hide-and-seek, playing more catch and of course...
...getting as dirty as possible, it was then time to pack up camp and head home after a great two days at Chief Hosa campground.
