Catching up on the rest of Ava's stay in the mountains two weekends ago. She had lots of fun spending time with her grandparents. They went on a fun, beautiful hike and made yummy cupcakes in cake cones. Cute idea mom, and they were delicious.
This past weekend we had an awesome couple of days, but I slacked off on taking pictures.
On Saturday the kids and I spent tons of time outside until it got too hot. Later we headed over to a house warming party for Simon's good friend Casey's brother who went to Luther College. Simon and I really enjoyed getting to catch up with Casey (who lives in LA) and Cody, and meeting both their girlfriends who are really sweet. We also unexpectedly got to meet some people that also went to Luther. Fun! The kids were super excited because other kids were at the party for them to play with AND they got to stay up late until 10 pm!
On Sunday the kids had their buddy Emmett, over to play. The three of them play so well together which is so fun for Dylan because normally he just hangs with lots of girls. After naps it was time to get ready to head over to the Duggar's house for a pool party and BBQ. The four kids enjoyed cooling off in the water while the adults did their best to relax (which is not easy with active kids in the water).
We swam for a few hours at the Duggar's neighborhood pool and worked up an appetite for a yummy BBQ dinner. Once again the kids were super excited because they again got to stay up late while playing at their friends' house. At one point we were told by the older girls that they were playing house and pretending Dylan and Layla were boyfriend and girlfriend. So cute!
Monday after Ava woke up from sleeping in late she reminded me how "so cool" it was that she and Dylan got to stay up late two nights in a row!
Lastly, some random pics of trampoline fun. Our priority this weekend is to finally put up the protective fence around the trampoline because the kids are getting way too good at jumping.

When looking at these pics, Lainey said she wants one of those (trampoline)! Looks like a lot of fun!
