Our Weekend Plus More

My Lady Bug and Dragon were all dressed up and ready to meet friends for dinner and a night of Spooktacular fun at our Rec. Center.

Heading to a night of pre-Halloween fun. We met Willam, Adam and Liz for dinner and then headed to Spooktacular where the kids played fun games to win candy and ran around the Halloween decorated gymnastics room. Thanks William (Curious George), Liz and Adam for joining us for a very fun night.

I was able to head out for an evening baby shower with friends on Saturday night. Our friend Kristin (mother-to-be) flew in from Seattle so that we could all get together with her. It was great seeing you Kristin.

We had a great weekend and the whole family slept in until 9 a.m on Sunday morning. Woo hoo! We made a huge blueberry, waffle breakfast and then got ready for the Sedita's to come over.

Yay! The Sedita Family drove all the way down to our house to play and have dinner with us. Alex, who Ava has been friends with since they were 6 months old, was pretty impressive with the baseball bat. He even hit the ball over the fence into Howard's yard. Nice arm Alex!

The two 5 year olds and two 2 year olds played great together while the adults enjoyed good conversation, dinner, drinks and laughs.

We all laughed pretty hard at Ava and Alex who hilariously ran around the basement tackling each other. I should have taken a video.

After the Sedita's left Ava told me she already missed Alex. :( We're soooo glad they came over for dinner and some great play time because we haven't seen them since Ava's birthday.

I was able to join Ava at her school for their annual fun run between the two elementary schools. It was a great event and Ava and I had fun running together.

Yay! Ava earned her Unicorn Pillow Pet. Ava wanted a pillow pet very badly and Simon thought of a great idea to have Ava earn a $1 for every day that she had great behavior. Once she earned $22 we would take her to the toy store to pick out her pillow pet.

This worked perfect because not only did Ava begin to grasp the concept of the value of a dollar, but she also caught on quickly that for her to earn a dollar each day she had to have a great behavior. Some days she didn't earn a dollar and it also worked well for Simon and I because if she was not listening well or having a rough day we could reminder her about earning her dollar for the day. $22 dollars later she finally had enough to buy her Pillow Pet. Great job Ava! Now we can start all over again to save up for another special purchase.
