Lots of Big Changes and Big Updates

Over the last couple of weeks, there have been lots of changes and updates for us. Here's a list of our changes and updates in no particular order:

1) On March 15th we had an offer on our house and after a few back-and-forth counteroffers, we settled on a price with a close date of May 12th. We're so excited!!!

2) NO more showings for the Escorcia house and now we're onto the fun part of finding a new house for us to buy.We found a house last weekend and made an offer, but we were beat out by another buyer who offered an April 2nd close date. What? How is that possible? We were bummed, but it was probably too good to be true to have found a house so fast. Now we're back out there looking to find something else just as great.

3) We've been enjoying the drastic weather changes that spring often brings, from one day being in the high 60's to the next day getting 10 inches of snow and then melting and being in the 50's all weekend and then today waking up to another 10 inches of snow. Crazy!

4) Ava update - we found out last week that Ava tested into an Advanced Kindergarten class, and even though she won't be attending that school now that we're moving before she starts Kindergarten, it's still pretty awesome that Ava did so well. We're so proud of her!

5) Dylan update - Dylan turned 18 months today and it's hard to imagine that he's already a year and half old. At his wellness visit he weighed in at 28lbs 4.6oz (80%) with a height of 34.5inches (96%). We often receive comments about how tall Dylan is and he definitely towers over many of the kids in his class. During Dylan's appointment, Dad and Ava, said he hardly cried from his shots and was fine once he had his blankie. Ava, being the amazing sister that she is, helped her dad remember to bring Dylan's blankie to his appointment.

Dylan is a super funny kid who loves to make us laugh and give us all kisses. He gives the longest, cutest kisses ever and has been pretty dramatic and funny about giving them every time he leaves a room or is saying "byeeeee" or "nigh nigh." He can turn from being super funny and laughing up a storm, to suddenly laying on his tummy on the floor with his head in the corner stiff as a board and crying because he had to get out of the bath. Yes, bath time is still one of Dylan's top 6 favorite things to do and he will drop anything he's doing to head upstairs when you say the word bath. His other favorites are exploring, and exploring, and exploring outside on our daily walks, swinging, going down slides, eating nanas (bananas), and running around ramming things with his train.

Dylan is talking up a storm these days. He LOVES to sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (super cute) and he's putting many words together to form phrases. Dylan excitably sits all the way through stories now (yippi) and now is on the opposite spectrum where he insists on sitting on the floor naked after bath time to read through is favorite books.

He still continues to be a very loud talker and screamer, but is slowly improving on using the word "help" and "please" when he needs something rather than just screaming for it.

He copies everything Ava does and he's onto a new phase of wanting to do everything on his own with no help especially when it comes to eating. He wants his plate of food to look just like the rest of ours and to be on the tray of his highchair (no more little portions at a time) so that he can eat all of it with his big boy silverware just like the rest of us and don't even attempt to try and help him or he'll scream.

Dylan is grumpy (really grumpy) without his full 3 hour nap during the day and unfortunately, there are days he doesn't get a full nap when he goes to day care on Tuesdays and Thursdays. BUT, the good news is that he's really enjoying day care and having fun learning and playing with his buddies. Apparently, he also has a crush on Sophia and tries to kiss her on the lips. Slow down there buddy! So far we've only received good reports from day care that Dylan's doing great and adjusting well.

6) As mentioned above, Dylan received his first hair cut from his Dad which didn't go over to well with Mom, but luckily it will grow out at some point. Dad and Dylan disappeared upstairs for a while and finally came down stairs with Dylan looking like a skin head. Simon had buzzed all of Dylan's hair off. Now... I must say first, that yes, I am a total fan of the buzz cut, BUT, seriously this is the shortest buzz cut I have ever seen AND, I loved Dylan's hair, which by the way took him 1.5 years to grow out. He's still as cute as ever and I've adjusted to the new do, but I'm just hoping his hair starts to grow out soon. At least Dad and Dylan had fun making a mess in the bathroom.

This picture is of the kids playing outside on Thursday (St. Patty's Day) of last week when it reached 69 degrees... ...watering all the dead flowers on the porch...

...then Friday we received 10 inches of snow. Saturday morning the snow was melting fast so we had to get outside quickly to play before it melted. The kids helped me shovel snow onto the flowers they were watering in the photo before...

...and by Sunday and Monday we were back in the 50's and 60's...

...but soon drinking from the hose was no longer an option, when we received another 10 inches on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.
