Starting the New Year with more ice skating fun at The Cube on January 3rd and with it being...
...our 3rd time this winter of visiting The Cube, the kids are now really starting to get a hang of ice skating.
And the three of us are having so much fun skating together too.
Dylan and Ava love to make up games like following-the-leader on the ice.
I've really been enjoying fitting in skating time with my kiddos.
The night was a perfect 50 degrees and I'm so glad we made the effort to go that night before the cold front set in.
The winds turned that night and we woke to snow the next morning before Dylan's very first basketball game at a very early start of 8 AM.
Dylan was so excited for his first game that he had a such a hard time falling asleep that night but, with being tired he still...
...played so very well and had lots of fun. His defense was great and he was able to get a couple rebounds thus, allowing him to dribble down to his side of the court for a few strong shots (none of them went in but, it was the right idea and he did so well).
The boys played a very tough team and we learned a lot from our first game.
Most important was that Dylan had a great big smile on his face for the day had finally arrived for his long awaited first basketball game.
Sunday it was time again for more basketball drills and practicing with Dad. Ava and Simon practiced Monday as well which made 14 days of practicing for an hour each, out of Ava's full 17 day break.
Dylan joined practice as many days as he could but, he's still a little too young to enjoy and appreciate practice as much as Ava does but, I sure enjoyed getting to see both of them practice on Sunday.
Ava's such a hard worker running her least favorite drill... defensive slides.
Dylan was hilarious try to learn the proper form.
Lots of dribbling and...
...ball handling skills.
Of course a few good pointers from Dad but, only when Dylan was willing to listen. :)
Getting stronger with her left and...
...Dylan getting better at controlling the ball.
After some more drills it was finally time for...
... a little one-on-one scrimmage between Ava and Dylan.
Lots of laughs had by all but, a good battle between the two of them.
We both had on our Run Colorado shirts on the same day.
Lastly we made sure to get lots of play time in all the new snow.
It was a little cold but, very beautiful.
Snowballs for Marley and taking her...
...for a long walk.
Getting in one last play time before the sun went down.
Such good playing buddies!
